Montesquies Life and History

Montesquieus real name is Charles Louis de Secondat

Montesquieus father died in 1713 and montesquieu was placed under the care of his uncle Baron de Montesquieu.  Baron died in 1716 leaving de Secondat his fortune, his office as president of the Bordeaux parliament and his title of Baron de Montesquieu.  Montesquieu held his office for ten years. 
 
In 1728 Montesquieu was admitted to the Academic Francaise were he studied laws, customs and governments of the countries of Europe. 
 
When Montesquieu was older he set out on some travels to vienna, Hungry, Italy and London, were he remained from 1729-1731.  He was made a member of the British Royal Society were he had amble opportunityto observe the regime which helped to bused his model for the free society.

Interesting facts about Charles Louis de Secondat

Born in Chateau de La Brede near Bordeaux, France in January 18, 1689.

He was born into a wealthy family, but placed in the care of a poor family as a child.

He attended Oratorian College of Juilly and studied science, history and philosophy.

Montesquieu died in Paris in February 10, 1755
